Eosinophilic oesophagitis (or EoE) is caused by an immune response to dietary antigens. It can cause symptoms like chest pain, vomiting and dysphagia. Untreated, chronic oesophageal inflammation can ultimately lead to oesophageal narrowing and strictures.
