The 2017 World Cup of Chocolate Bars came to a dramatic close last week following eight days of grueling competition. Many of last year's contenders became this year's side stories, while new bars, and rejuvenated bars made noise. The balance of power appeared to shift with the start of every new round. Snickers, Kit-Kat, and Coffee Crisp all at one time or another seemed to be the sure thing. Eventual champion,Twix, never once wore the leader's jersey, making its win even more impressive given the rate at which past records fell. We learned this year that nothing is ever settled until the final whistle blows. It was a year for redemption as, in the end, last year's favorite made good for it's past mistakes. Delicious, caramely, Twix can now add another descriptor: World Champion.
