This week we learn about the contested  history behind the Manhattan, how to make the BEST Manhattan cocktail you’ll ever have, and Jules takes the classic and puts an incredibly delicious RUM Toddy twist on this timeless classic 


How to make the best dang Manhattan you’ll ever have:

  1. Chill a martini glass or coupe in the freezer or by packing the glass with ice.
  2. Make your vermouth blend ½ Punta Mes ½ Dolin Rouge 
  3. Add to mixing glass
  4. 2.5 oz rittenhouse rye
  5. ¾ oz vermouth blend
  6. 2 dash angostura
  7. Add ice to mixing glass 
  8. Stir with a bar spoon for 30-45 seconds.
  9. Use hawthorn strainer and strain mixture into chilled martini glass
  10. Garnish with luxardo cherry


    11. How to make the Jules Rum-hattan Toddy 

    1. Grab a mug and add
    2. 2 oz rum
    3. 1 oz sweet vermouth
    4. 2-3 dashes orange bitters
    5. 2 dashes angostura
    6. ½ orange squeezed
    7. Optional: splash luxardo cherry syrup
    8. 3-4 oz hot water
    9. Stir together
    10. Garnish with fresh orange slice and cinnamon stick


      11. Tip: Use your Vermouth before it expires (6 months) and keep your Vermouth in the fridge.
