Travis Wammack is a legendary guitarist and recording artist whose guitar licks have been featured on an estimated 60 million records sold. He was the first to develop and use the fuzz tone for an electric guitar. At the age of 16, he had his 1963 number-one hit, “Scratchy,” and by 1969, Wammack’s skills landed him in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. There he teamed up with legendary producer Rick Hall at FAME Studios to record songs with Aretha Franklin, Wilson Pickett, Little Richard, Mac Davis, Clarence Carter, the Osmond Brothers, Bobbie Gentry, Sam Cooke, and many others. Sit down with a legend and find out why Rolling Stone called Travis the “Fastest Guitar Player in the South” on this episode of "Rick & Bubba University"!
