May has entered the chat… and she did not come quietly. Suddenly our calendars are bursting with recitals, field days, teacher gifts, graduations, and don’t forget Mother’s Day (which, let’s be honest, sometimes feels more like a group project than a day off). It’s beautiful—but also a lot.
So here’s your friendly reminder, mom: you don’t have to do it all. You don’t have to make five Pinterest-perfect gifts, show up to every event camera-ready, or celebrate on the exact “right” day. Sometimes the best gift is coffee in bed and quiet. Sometimes it’s Chick-fil-A and calling it a celebration. And sometimes it’s just surviving the week without crying in the school parking lot (we’ve been there).
God’s not asking you to do May perfectly—He’s inviting you to walk through it with Him. One day at a time. With grace for yourself, patience for your people, and eyes open to the small sacred moments hidden in the mayhem.
So let’s flip the script. Let’s make May less about measuring up, and more about showing up—with presence, peace, and a little holy perspective. You’ve got this, because He’s got you. And if all else fails? Call it May-gical and go take a nap.
