Until his recent retirement, Bill Somer was a Sr. Environmental Scientist with the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife. Much of his career was spent working on the conservation of a native species of cutthroat trout, the Paiute. Once on the brink of extinction, this fish has made an impressive comeback thanks to the hard work of folks like Bill and his colleagues.
