Jake Canuso is best know for playing the flirtatious Spanish barman, Mateo Castellanos, in every episode of the ITV comedy, Benidorm. Jake is from Switzerland and began his career as a dancer, appearing in videos with and touring the world with Annie Lennox, Elton John, Take That and the Spice Girls. Jake’s acting career has included the films Kinky Boots, Flyboys, Journal of a Contract Killer, Nine, with Daniel Day Lewis, Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz and Judi Dench, and The Dark Knight Rises with Christian Bale. On television he’s been in such shows as Hustle, Heartbeat, Casualty, Doctors, Shameless, The Hour with Romola Garai, Anna Chancellor, Dominic West and Ben Whishaw. He played Daniel in the TV production, The Bible, and was in Bad Education, Cardinal Burns and Scarborough.
