How To Get A Job

Ep. 230 “How To Not Let External Expectations Define You” with Briar Dougherty

Listen Later

How do other people define you? If your colleagues and acquaintances were asked to describe you, would it be positive?

In this week’s episode, I sat down with Briar Dougherty, founder of Career Organic, to talk more about how we are not what other people think we are. Instead, we are who we think we are.

From the perspective of a first generation, minority, and international college student, you might face even more pressure as you begin progressing in your career, but don’t let this stop you from accomplishing your goals.

It’s hard to not let others’ expectations define you, especially when it comes from the people you love the most. You should not let external expectations dictate your life, career, and goals.

Check out this week’s episode if you’ve been affected by the expectations of others!
