Apologies for the delay! I explain why at the start of this chapter (monologue) episode about grading that sets up my next few episodes about the grading space we are currently in as The Hobby. In this episode, I talk about going back to my childhood home and where my old LCS used to stand, being a natural introvert (a surprise for some who follow me on Instagram, I'm sure), my experience with the grading process and my bewilderment as to why we as consumers in The Hobby have accepted that
1. declared value is a thing,
2. more expensive cards cost more to grade, and
3. freshly pack pulled American sports cards (versus international TCG cards) immediately put into penny sleeves and top loaders are not consistently gem mint cards.
Does this make sense to anyone else? Please help me understand!
