As we round the corner into Halloween (spooky season!), we thought we would dive into a case that seems...well, difficult to explain.
Welcome back, Spooky Squad to another episode of Scream and Sugar, your true crime coffee hour.  Today, we're bringing you the chilling, and paranormal, case of Teresita Basa, while sipping on fantastic coffee from our local favorite, Pangolin Cafe.

 In 1977, Teresita Basa, a quiet, well-respected respiratory therapist in Chicago, was found murdered in her apartment, her body set on fire in an attempt to hide the crime. For months, the police were stumped, with no leads or suspects—until an unexpected and eerie twist occurred. A co-worker of Basa, Remy Chua, claimed to be possessed by Basa’s spirit, who used Remy's voice to reveal the name of Teresita's killer.
The case forces us to ask: could a ghost truly communicate from beyond the grave, or was it all coincidence? Either way, the story of Teresita Basa is a haunting reminder that sometimes, the truth finds a way to reveal itself—no matter how strange the means.
