On May 25, 1977 Star Wars was released and proceeded to become one of the most popular and most profitable films of all time. To honour the 40th anniversary of this ground-breaking film CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO is proud to present music from all seven of John Williams’ film scores – STAR WARS, THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, RETURN OF THE JEDI, THE PHANTOM MENACE, ATTACK OF THE CLONES, REVENGE OF THE SITH and THE FORCE AWAKENS. We will also be featuring music from Joel McNeely’s score to the 1996 novel SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE, Kevin Kiner’s score to the 2008 3D animated film STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, and two separate STAR WARS related video games – THE FORCE UNLEASHED, and KINECT STAR WARS. And we’ll end off the program with a suite of music from Michael Giachino’s ROGUE ONE.
As we did with our RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK 30th ANNIVERSARY program we will be presenting alternate recordings of John Williams’ music from the seven films he has scored thus far.
