A regular on Radio 4’s The News Quiz and television panel shows, he is best known for his long-running series Mark Steel’s in Town, which explores the quirks of communities across the UK. He has written for The Independent and published several acclaimed books, combining humour with history and politics, and remains a distinctive voice in British comedy.
