Vicki Randall from Brainerd, Minn., lost her son, Sgt. Cody Lee Randall, to suicide during the pandemic in 2020.
He was on base in Alaska where they have experienced a pandemic of their own — of suicides. Cody was seeing a counselor but his access to mental health treatment was cut off because of the government's response to the pandemic.
He left behind a wife and then 5-year-old daughter. He was just 28.
