Coming to you straight from deer camp, Sam is in the field with his dad, Mark during opening week of the Texas rifle season on their "Texas Dirt" property.  Throughout the summer and fall, we have followed our Texas crew as they have begun managing 800+ acres of untouched whitetail country in North Texas.  Sam finally gets to sit down with his dad again on the podcast, and get another perspective of what the property holds.  The two discuss the whitetail management strategies thus far, the importance of recon, how unusual it is to see the number of bucks they have seen, and more.  They both share of few of their more memorable hunts so far this year; and one in particular stands out for Sam, having had a mature buck standing only 10-feet away from him!
