Is workers’ compensation insurance treated the same for the cannabis sector as any other industry? Are claims different? What about the risks? Kevin Tarango, director of Cannabis and the Workers’ Comp Dividend Program at Heffernan Insurance Brokers, answers “No” to all the above. He runs the Heffernan Cannabis Association, a workers’ comp program that pays dividends of up to 40% of premium to qualifying cannabis businesses. We spoke with him for our latest podcast episode to get a handle on workers’ comp in cannabis –  and, of course, to ask him to talk about his program.
