My guest this week is Dr. Patrick Newman, and he is here to discuss the infamous Progressive Era with me. Many people still view the era from 1890-1920 as an era of giant leaps forward for the US: for business, for workers, and for government. As with many aspects of establishment orthodoxy, that couldn't be more wrong. Regulation and crony capitalism have led to many horrific outcomes that we still deal with today.
