This is a true story of what may be considered an "every day" nightmare. Someone breaking into a house doesn't sound absolutely gut-wrenching when you hear it on the news, but when it's happening to YOU, when you're alone, when you're hiding and your only source of protection is being worked on like a puzzle in order to access, time slows down, help seems hundreds of miles away. For those of us old enough to remember the days without cell phones, this makes it that much more terrifying.
