In these very challenging times we're facing during COVID and the huge and necessary social justice movement that is now in the forefront, to help and defend black lives, I thought I'd share my thoughts and the resources that have helped me be a better ally for BIPOC. Today I’ll be talking about why the fight for one of these issues is the fight for the other, why it's necessary for change to be uncomfortable, why we're all going to make mistakes in our advocacy and why that shouldn't deter us.
I’ll talk about how we can extend our empathy and love towards oppressed animal beings into other systems of oppression, and in Part 2 coming next week I’ll share some anti-racist resources I think you might love and some tips and steps we can start taking to be better allies for people of color, and how to take our advocacy and kindness to help other movements that are in need of our support.
