Marko comes out of the blocks hot today with a theory, and Ox agrees with him. Both Ox and Marko think we have been getting lied to for years about this issue.
Ox then decides to show off. Given Marko has the neighbour from hell, Ox reveals that his brand new next door neighbour is a top bloke - and explains why. It has to do with drinking and football. Who'd have thought Ox would be involved with that sort of gear, very out of character.
Marko tells a story about giving a chat at a local footy club before the game. He ended up drinking far more than he should have, and his behaviour went pear-shaped. It's a great story and one that would never have happened if he'd been drinking shandys.
Ox and Marko start talking about footy clubs with funny names - the Warilla Gorillas in Wollongong comes up as one of the great names in local sport. Ox reckons their logo looks like Jason Dunstall, have a look at the logo and check em out on Facebook here, comment on one of their posts and tell them Ox and Marko sent you. Marko lists a couple of options and wants your input on funny names for local sporting clubs that either do exist or should exist. Let us know on socials, or send a message.
But after a bit of fun, suddenly the podcast gets serious. Marko has been holding a grudge against Ox for some time over an issue to do with a golf trip, and he raises it on the show and wants an explanation. It turns out that the reason Ox hasn't told the story is that it was one of the worst golfing experiences of his life....he explains why, and it is a shocker, and not of Ox's making. The course where it happened is here, it does look amazing!
Marko poses a 'Can Will Still Be Friends' scenario about language to Ox, regarding a certain phrase. Ox also has a different 'Can We Still Be Friends' question - and it has to do with someone on the 'Couple of Blokes, Couple of Beers' team. Marko is horrified by what has happened and believes that Ox can't be friends with the podcast team member following this situation, which puts the ongoing nature of the podcast in jeopardy. Hopefully we can survive this. It looks like an official warning from the Couple of Blokes, Couple of Beers HR department may well be required, or we could maybe reach out to Monica from HR who phoned up during Episode 1 of the podcast here.
Feedback - there is a heap this week. Including one who Ox and Marko believe may be from none other than Shannon Noll! We get a question from Travis in Rockhampton who heard the guys talking about the Oils Dreamworld, and asks what other songs are written about Aussie places, the guys list a bunch including one of Marko's fave tracks from v.Spy v.Spy; hear it here.
Ox reveals a 'bad business' idea that he's seen.
