Described as handsome, charming and utterly without scruple Sobhraj along with accomplices including girlfriend Marie, would use this charm to trick travellers into believing he was a gemstone dealer.
Thus gaining their trust & befriending them which tragically led to many followers being robbed, poisoned, strangled, drowned & burnt.
It is thought he murdered at least 20 tourists, including 14 in Thailand .
He was sometimes referred to as ‘The Bikini Killer’ due to several victims being found in swimwear .
However the name he’s most well known for is ‘The Serpent’ for his snake like ability to slip through the arms of the law time & time again.
