Crime talk timestamp-8:37 It was March 3rd 2021 & the world was gripped by a global pandemic, Covid 19.
For this reason the city of London had certain covid ‘lockdown protocols’ in place at this time, certain rules that seemed to change on a weekly basis.
Sadly one sick perverted police constable would use these rules to trick & lure his unsuspecting victim into his car & to her death .
33 year old Sarah Everard had left her friends place to walk home when married father of 2 Wayne couzens kidnapped, raped & murdered her after falsely arresting her under the pretence of her breaking covid rules .
By the time she had realised what was happening it was too late .
The whole country searched for the missing girl , until police zoned in on their suspect and realised Sarah’s killer was actually one of their own, 48 year old police constable Wayne Couzens.
Sarahs tragic murder unleashed a torrent of anger & led thousands of women to protest for the end of violence against women .
It made us all take a closer look at how there was a need to re-evaluate what lengths women have to go to in order to stay safe in public places. The uproar also created the now famous hashtag “she was just walking home” referring to Sarah’s innocent final actions before her life was brutally taken from her.
