This week The Ox is back from the 'fat farm' (his words not ours) and after doing a bonus pod a couple of weeks ago with Magpies legend Nick Maxwell, we’ve come back to Maxy's joint for a 'normal' podcast episode.
The Ox is looking good, and gives us an update on his Bali trip and the new 'hobby' of getting an outrageous number of colonics in a short period of time. Marko is keen to hear about the hobby and wants all the details….and oh my gosh do we get the details. It isn’t pretty. Highly suggest you fast-forward through the first 10-minutes of the show.
But the good news is that The Ox has lost a decent amount of weight, and is looking great, he also got some teeth work done, and looks very Shane Warne-esque. And after the discussions about Ox’s desire for an ‘urban cool’ look, Marko reckons he is well on the way. Looking good and dressing sharp. We get a call from family member Malcolm ‘the little engine that could’ who has been on his own health journey and achieved brilliant results, and wants to give Ox a pump up.
Marko has a confession, a ‘can we still be friends’ question for Ox. It is something he’s brought up before on the pod, but it has now evolved into a regular thing, rather than a one-off. Ox is reminded of one of his favourite movies, Police Academy, and reckons Marko reminds him of Hightower in the movie.
Flower chat. We have a 5-minute chat on flowers. Apologies in advance. This podcast has really gone downhill.
The Ox has a business idea about buying plain shirts, but creating iron on logos from expensive brands. Speaking of business ideas, The Ox was looking at Producer Dan’s phone and saw a message pop up about a business idea Dan has had to do with Sausage Dogs. We brainstorm it, and Ox decides to call a mate, Nigel, who is an important bloke at Petstock, and bounce it off him. Could it fly?
The Ox reckons he has been ripped off at a cafe. He explains what happened and the cost, and it is indeed quite ridiculous. Marko is keen to hear other ripoff stories from cafes. Let us know on the socials, or leave us a voicemail here. Are cafes ripping us off, or are the prices fair?
Ox makes a big claim that when the petrol tank says zero, there is a secret reserve of 30ks left. Marko is unsure about this, but Ox is adamant that all cars have a secret 30k reserve. Is he right? Marko shares a story of getting on the wrong side of his mother-in-law with a shonky petrol gauge.
Lots of feedback this week, and the results of a poll that Ox put up on a recent business idea of his - Tindermat - an app that helps match people at laundromats. Ox and Marko can't believe that the family has voted the way that they have. And, we have a suggestion for a poll from family member Rob the Train Driver. It’s a good one.
We spin the wheel, and who’d have thought, a train joke….how does this happen?
