Dr. Waryam Singh Sandhu, born on 10th of September 1945 is a famous Indian author of short stories.

The writer published his first ever short story "Akhan Vich Mar Gayi Khushi" in the famous Punjabi magazine known as Preetlari.

In the year 2000, he was awarded with the Sahitya Akademi Award for his famous short story collection known as "Chauthi koot". Although he usually writes in Punjabi language, his works have been translated into various languages such as Hindi, Bengali, Urdu and English.
