Today for the pod we're live from the e&s Clearance Centre in Dandenong Road Clayton where they have just recovered from a massive Black Friday sale!
Marko reveals that he has put his neighbours to shame with the quality of his nature strip, which he takes huge pride in. There is competition, but he reckons his is a clear winner: top dressed, watered in, mowed perfectly. We posted a pic of Marko's nature strip a couple of weeks ago here, and have had a heap of comments on socials - you'd think they'd be supportive, but not completely....we read them out.
Talking neighbours, Ox is having a massive family gathering at his joint on Boxing Day, so far 48 RSVP's and he wants some advice from Marko on whether he should give his neighbours a heads-up, as he says some of his family members are feral and it will be raucous. Marko is horrified about the sleeping arrangements Ox has sorted. And Ox reveals that it is a themed party: food, drinks, and outfits all under a particular theme. Marko offers to provide Allens Snakes from the family business for the attendees, and invites himself to the party.
Ox has another issue. His daughter has a boyfriend, who Ox rates, but Ox has an issue that he needs advice on.
Marko raises a Civil Selfishness question to do with shaving, and the price of razors. They're out of control. But, he has noticed that they have increased their blade numbers on the razors and he's loving it. Third Man asks a question about shaving which derails the podcast for a few minutes discussing why blokes have nipples. Marko has an idea on why, he's wrong, and it's possibly offensive, but still it is an idea.
Ox and Marko mention a trip they were on years ago with a bunch of sportspeople, including Grant Hackett, and they both had a man-crush on him. This was just before he went off the rails and trashed a hotel room, and nipple-crippled a bloke on a plane. Marko tells the story. Very funny.
Marko is impressed with e&s not yet having Christmas decorations up yet, he reckons it's too early. Ox reveals that he put his tree up in October!! Marko is horrified. Ox reckons October is the right time, Marko reckons a week or two out from Christmas, Third Man says December 1. What do you reckon? We call Shifty Dave who has offered his taser for Ox to use. He turns it on for us so we can hear how it sounds.....Ox is confident, Marko is excited. Shifty has a paddock, a mattress, and a helmet ready for Ox. Marko offers 4 slabs of Coopers to Ox if he can hold out and not fall over.
Paul, the big boss at e&s wanders in for a chat, and tells us how business is going at the Clearance Centre. Lots of feedback as usual, mostly good, not all. But we'll cop it all. Includes a question about Ox's health retreat where he went - link is here.
