Fresh from visiting Scroob for a chat on Distraction Pieces Jay McAllister sat down with the boys for a natter about a subject close to all their hearts....watering holes. They talk about Jay’s new book, Drunk Folk stories, his ingenious merch stand at his show, gentrification, and the many wonderful venues and pubs across the country.

Known by his performing name as Beans on Toast, Jay is from Braintree, Essex, and rose to prominence out of the UK folk scene in 2005. His songwriting openly deals with the topics of politics, drugs and love. He has released eight studio albums, traditionally releasing a new record each year on 1 December, McAllister's birthday. Jay has worked with the likes of Frank Turner, Emmy the Great and Ben Lovett of Mumford and Sons.
