J. Sai Deepak is an engineer-turned- lawyer practising as an arguing counsel primarily before the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. Sai has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Anna University (2002-06) and a bachelor’s degree in law from IIT Kharagpur (2006-09). In over a decade’s practice since 2009, Sai has carved a niche for himself in Civil Commercial litigation, Intellectual Property litigation, Constitutional law and Competition law and has been part of several landmark cases in the said areas of law. He is regular invited to speak on and teach the said subjects by premier Law Schools of the country.
Recognising his expertise in the field of intellectual property rights, since November 2016, Sai has been engaged by the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Commerce, Government of India as an honorary advisor on the implementation of the National IPR Policy. In August 2019, for his contributions in the field of law, Sai was awarded the Young Alumnus Achiever’s Award by his alma mater IIT Kharagpur.
Sai writes frequently on Constitutional and civilizational issues on his blog Yukti and in mainstream publications such as The New Indian Express, Financial Express and The Open Magazine.
