When you think of PTSD you often think it applies to the men and women of the armed forces. Today's guest Gary will show you something quite different. It's a really special episode this week, not just because Chris and Stu barely say anything, but because the guys get to chat to man who has been on the front line of support and tragedy that many of us rarely see, and that which goes unnoticed and often unappreciated.
Gary co-founded PTSD999 after a long battle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder himself. He has been in the army, the British Transport Police and worked in Close Protection. Its put his life and the happiness of his own family on the line, but is here to tell the tale and help raise awareness for the disorder.
Get ready for a deep episode with many dark subjects get brought up, including suicide, rail road accidents, the 7 July Bombings. Obviously if you aren't really up for listening to that today maybe give it a skip and come back when you are ready, but to be honest this is one of the best episodes we've ever recorded and one we really think you will enjoy listening to.
