Touched by the grace of God when he was 19 years old, Fr. Cedric Pisegna surrendered his life to Jesus and had a life changing experience. Filled with the Holy Spirit, he desired to make a difference in people’s lives. Fr. Cedric dedicated his life to God as a Passionist religious and Catholic priest. In 2006, Fr. Cedric began producing the television program Live with Passion! – which today airs nationally and internationally on Trinity Broadcasting Network and The Global Catholic EWTN (Where to Watch), as well as on local Catholic affiliates in markets such as New York, Atlanta, Long Island, Los Angeles, Louisville, San Antonio, New Orleans, and many others. Fr. Cedric is the author of 26 books, and numerous CD’s and DVD’s about Christian living.

Fr. Bob Johnson was born on Our Lady of the Rosary’s Feast Day, October 7th, 1963 in Dearborn Heights, Michigan to Robert and Julia Johnson. Along with his brother, Bill, he attended St. Sebastian Catholic Grade School, followed by Divine Word High School, Perrysburg, Ohio, run by the Society of the Divine Word.

Fr. Bob studied at Divine Word College, Epworth, Iowa, and Nanzan University in Nagoya, Japan. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in English. During his novitiate year, he worked on the Addiction Unit of the Veterans’ Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Father Bob began his graduate studies at Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, Illinois, and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Divinity with Mission Concentration. During this time, he did his Clinical Pastoral Education at Harper-Grace and Children’s Hospitals in Detroit, and also studied music at St. Joseph’s College Summer Program in Rensselaer, Indiana.

Fr. Bob was ordained in 1992, and for the next twenty years was assigned to the Caribbean island of Antigua where he was an associate pastor and taught music, English, theology, and was chaplain, vice principal and homeroom teacher in the Catholic schools. He assisted in various parishes on Antigua and throughout the Caribbean. He became the music examiner for the public schools, and helped found the Music Teachers Training Department at the Antigua State College. During this time he was also the local religious superior of the SVD community for six years and a diocesan consultor for the Bishop.

In November 2017, he joined the Miramar Retreat House Staff in Duxbury, MA assisting at St. Joseph’s Parish, Kingston, MA along with giving parish missions and various retreats to all age groups. He was assigned as administrator to Our Lady of the Woods Parish, Woodhaven, MI beginning on July 1st, 2019. He now is a priest in Solidum at St. Roch, Flatrock; Our Lady of the Woods, Woodhaven; Sacred Heart, Grosse Ile; St. Cyprian, Riverview.

In 1925, the Cathedral of the Most Blessed Sacrament commissioned Casavant Frères—one of North America’s finest and most respected organ builders—to create an instrument worthy of Detroit’s mother church. The result was a beautifully crafted pipe organ whose tonal design reflects the artistry and liturgical ideals of its time: warm foundations, expressive color stops, and a noble principal chorus that fills the cathedral with clarity and grandeur.

For a century, this organ has shaped the spiritual life of our community. It has supported the Church’s chant, elevated choirs, and proclaimed the Gospel in sound at thousands of liturgies. Its voice has accompanied the faithful through moments of joy and sorrow, celebration and contemplation. It has also served as a cultural treasure for the wider community, inspiring generations of international organists, students, and concertgoers.

Dr. Horst Buchholz is Director of Sacred Music at the Cathedral of The Most Blessed Sacrament, and for the Archdiocese of Detroit, Michigan, and prior in a similar position in St. Louis. He received his first musical training in a boys choir in his native Germany. After studies in organ, church music, and composition, he graduated from the University of Arts in Berlin and continued his studies in conducting at Indiana University, where he earned the degree of Doctor of Music in Opera and Orchestral Conducting.

Dr. Buchholz’ lifelong passion for and schooling in Early Music became a bedrock for later co-founding along with International Chant Academy Dean and Faculty member, Michael Rocchio, Pro-Arte Saint Louis, the only vocal ensemble dedicated to the performance of Early Music in the Midwest.

Deacon Aaron Poyer has been with Most Holy Trinity and the Basilica of Ste. Anne since July 2023. He previously served at Corpus Christi in Detroit since his ordination in 2019. Deacon Aaron is a retired law enforcement officer of 35 years. After his retirement, he accepted a position with the Archdiocese of Detroit serving as Delegate for Consecrated Life & Priestly Mission. He and his wife Julie serve together on the Diaconate Formation Team and the Deacon Community Board. Together they have four adult children, a son-in-law, and in 2022, they had the joy of becoming grandparents as they welcomed their first grandson.

Deacon Aaron has a Bachelor of Science degree Criminal Justice from Wayne State University (1990) and a Master of Arts in Pastoral Studies (MAPS) from Sacred Heart Major Seminary (2020).

Rose Wingfield is a Catholic Mindset and Temperaments Coach with 40+ years experience in in marriage preparation, enrichment, and restoration. Brittany Perez is originally from the Chicago area. She graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a degree in Broadcast Journalism (Television), and started her career working with WMAQ (NBC Chicago) behind the scenes at the Assignment Desk.

KSFY in South Dakota is where she began as a one-(wo)man-band in front of the camera, reporting, shooting and editing video from the Aberdeen bureau. Some of her favorite stories there include human interest features, covering all kinds of weather, and shooting video of floods and wildfires from a plane. She even took flying lessons! In her free time, she traveled, sang the National Anthem at sporting events and stock car races, and ran her first Half Marathon in Deadwood, SD.

Brittany landed in Tallahassee as the Political Correspondent for WTSP (CBS Tampa/St. Pete, FL), covering stories on air for CBS in Tampa, ABC & NBC in Jacksonville (First Coast News), as well as Gannett online and print affiliates, and feeding stories through CNN.

University of Detroit Jesuit High School alum returns as school’s next president

Fr. Dan Dixon, SJ, has just been named the 31st President of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy. Fr. Dixon has been the Parochial Vicar of St. Mary Student Parish in Ann Arbor, MI. He grew up in Birmingham, graduating from the University of Detroit Jesuit High School and attended the University of Notre Dame. He took his vows in 2014.

Fr. Dixon helped to start The Welsh Academy, a middle school for families of modest economic means in Cleveland; taught classes for English language learners to migrants and refugees at St. Rita’s Center in the Bronx, NY, and at Oakland Catholic Worker in Oakland, CA.
