Long before Jamie Lee Curtis graced "Halloween" in 2018, reviving her role as Laurie Strode and being blended into a new narrative with a younger cast, "Scream" did the exact same thing eight years earlier. Sidney, Gale, and Dewey return to lead a new cast ensemble as the "legacy" original cast members. Functionally, this allows "Scream 4" to push forward a brilliant commentary on the remake culture of the 2000-2010s. However, "Scream 4" also continues their storylines after what we saw in their happy endings at the end of the third film.
