Drew Dickinson is a cofounder of the company Modento. While she says they are bored at home, they have been working on new features as well as integration with Eaglesoft and Dentrix. When they designed the platform, they never imagined how it would play out in this scenario, but they find that their customers can use the tools to help their practices continue running.
They have created a screening form that asks questions ahead of time. They also have forms and consents that can be sent straight to someone’s phone so that there is less patient contact in the office. Using Modento as a virtual waiting room can allow your office to be proactive. In addition, the Modento Go app allows you to see Modento from your phone.
The platform has sorting filters that are increasing in type to find patients you need. If you are using Modento you can send a link on text or email for touchless payment as well as sending treatment plans to your patients.
The questionnaire is a form you send to patients and can be done in bulk. If you have a sign on the door for walk-ins to call the number, you can message the link straight to the patient. At the end of the appointment, you can send the treatment plan by a link to the patient to sign. If you use Apex payments system you can also send a texted receipt and allow the patient to pay a payment. You will get a notification as well as the payment automatically being updated in Open Dental.
The Modento Go app does not require you to log in, but you will receive push notifications, have access to patient information, and it will be logged in Open Dental.
The Virtual Consult option can be used with any practice management system. Symptoms and preferred appointment times are selected by the patient. If they are a current patient and you use Open Dental, you can integrate it into their chart. You can send a calendar invite, payment request, and any additional instructions. At the next update, the virtual consult will be able to create a new patient or meld it with a current patient. This is a temporary dashboard that is open to those who are not Modento customers currently. If you are a current customer, just update your browser when you reopen your Modento page and it will be there.
What would be a piece of advice to give as we navigate this? This is a great time to catch up on things, try new things, or reevaluate your life and appreciate it.
