Today’s episode is all about formatting graphic posts for social media. With a wide range of social platforms, keeping up with the formats can be a challenge.

Understanding the platform your target audience are using will provide a better social experience. Each platform has many features, new ways to post, share and create content. All of these can be leveraged by repurposing content to other formats and platforms.

Once you know what platform you’re going to use, you can then start to focus on the content. How you format graphics is different for each platform. This means that the format you post on one platform may not be suitable for another.

Here’s a quick cheat sheet to help you out.

A quick win, when you don’t have a lot of time to create multiple variations of one image, is to use square graphics. This format works on pretty much all the platforms. It’s a quick win if you haven’t got the time to create multiple versions of the same graphics.
