Edith Johnson is a freelance writer and wanderer. Her love of travel has taken her across the globe and through a series of personal reinventions: telemarketer, model dresser, art dealer, translator, copyeditor, lingerie salesperson, and more. In 2011, she left a PhD program in history to follow and write about live music. Edith spent six years documenting her solo festival travels via social media as Festival Girl and ran a short-lived blog of the same name. During that time, Edith collaborated with legendary rock photographer Jay Blakesberg on his book Hippie Chick (2015). From 2016 to 2018, Edith organized and hosted the Her Forest Women’s Group Camp at Electric Forest, also serving on Her Forest’s 2017 allyship panel. Edith’s work has appeared in various print and online publications including Easy Reader, Hittin’ the Note, Fest 300, Salt Magazine, and Live for Live Music.
