We put forward the following scenario to Jason:

We’re a property developer acting as a Main Contractor on projects. Subcontractors and suppliers regularly ask to make Advanced Payments for materials off-site by our supply chain. We understand the need for this, but we want to make sure that we’re managing the process and de-risk it.

We then asked Jason a series of questions from the developer's perspective to understand how developers can best respond to requests for advanced payment from their supply chain and reduce the risks inherent with these payments by using vesting certificates and other securities.
