In 2009, 20-year-old Noor Almaleki fought to become independent from her family. Each time they managed to pull her back in and make her dependent on them again, but that summer, it seemed she might have finally broken free. Tragically, Noor wouldn't be able to create the life she wanted for herself because she was run over along with a family friend she was living with, Amal Khalaf. Investigators soon learned that this was no accident, and the person who did it was a member of Noor's own family.
