We’re working our way through the flurry of codex releases, and with Codex: Death Guard fresh in our hands as of recording, we figured we should take a look at Nurgle’s chosen. We didn’t want to ignore the more general Heretic Astartes, though, so we decided to do two codex reviews in one episode! It’s Chaos-palooza at the Preferred Enemies studio as we review both the Chaos Space Marines and Death Guard codexes. How do all the changes to 8th, as well as the addition of stratagems and legion tactics, put flavor back into the Veterans of the Long War? How do they compare to their loyalist brethren? And what the hell is up with Fabius Bile, anyway? Then we switch gears and look at Mortarion’s legion. What do the Death Guard bring to the table that differentiate them from vanilla CSM? What synergies and tactics might we expect? Is Mortarion as big of a beast as he seems? And is it worth what you give up from the standard Chaos codex?
