TODAY'S TOPIC: CATEGORIES OF PREPPING

In a grid down SHTF situation:
If you have a hundred guns & a million rounds of ammo,
but no food & water, you will likely die

If you have five years of food & water, but no first aid
or security, you will likely die.

We must be balanced, and address every catagory.
Start broad - what will be needed in every event
Then narrow down to the specific threats
Water & food necessary in all events
Faraday cage useful only in EMP/CME
Much lower probability of occurrence

Here are the catagories we believe preppers should address. 

Financial prepping
Get our finances in order

Water
Storage, Filtering, and Purifying

Food
Shelf stable foods
Store what you normally eat

Fire
Learn to build a fire. It could save your life.
Learn to cook on an open fire

Lighting
Build a lights out kit
Flashlights, Head lights for hands free use
Extra batteries

Shelter
Usually where you live
Know where there is a storm shelter
Must not stay in mobile homes or campers during tornado warnings
Sheltering for a GHB situation

Skills/Knowledge
Navigation, Fire starting, First aid, Filtering & purifying water
Farming/agriculture, Knitting/sewing, Canning/Baking/Cooking

First Aid/Medical
We may be our own first responder
We may need to give aid before responders arrive
Learn CPR
Learn first aid skills
Stopping bleeding
Bandaging
Wound care
Fighting infection
Splinting
First aid kits

Sanitation
We need a poop plan
Stock household cleaning supplies

Power options
Extra batteries for every battery operated item
Ability to recharge devices
Backup power
Portable Generators
Solar power

Safety & Security (personal & home defense)
