This dojo produced the legendary "Fresno Four," a quartet of Kenpo icons including Stephen LaBounty, Tom Kelly, Richard "Huk" Planas, and our guest today, Gary Swan.

Mr. Swan's dedication to preserving the Chinese aspects of Kenpo is exemplified by his role as the president of the

National Chinese Kenpo Karate Association.

His knowledge extends beyond Kenpo, as he has studied traditional Chinese empty hand and weapons forms under the renowned Hung Gar instructor, Buck Sam Kong. Additionally, his extensive background in acupuncture adds a unique dimension to his martial arts journey.

But that's not all – Sifu Gary Swan brings a wealth of experience from his 30 years of service in the U.S. Army, where he retired as a Command Sergeant Major.

Furthermore, he has been certified by the state of Texas since 1995 to teach concealed carry handgun license classes, adding yet another layer to his multifaceted expertise.
