This week we sat down with Joanna Tysdal, a trained RN and parent of 4 students in the district, who graciously agreed to come on the show to help give some counterweight to our ongoing discussions on masking in schools in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. 

A couple episodes ago we did a "Hot Take" on our local school boards decision to reinstated a masking mandate in our K-12 schools. During that recording it was clear that our positions on the matter had no daylight between them. As such we agreed that it would appropriate to round out our discussion to have someone on the show who does not come to the same conclusion on this topic. After hearing here eloquently speak out against the mandate at a School Board Listening Session on the matter we reached out to her and she accepted our invite. 

As you will hear we had a wonderful conversation, learned more about each other and our selves and hopefully modeling that this type of conversation can and should be done. 

We still are absolutely not aligned on this issue however we all walked away friends. 

As Joanna said "I never want to be afraid to have a conversation".
