Joined by Solo Pianist Elaine Chelton and the NYCB Orchestra, Capps demonstrates the concerto’s unique development from a three-movement symphony to the bravura piano piece as it is currently performed, and to which Balanchine choreographed his 1956 ballet Allegro Brillante.
