For the first time on Powerboat Talk, we're excited to have back with us the renowned circle boat racing icon, Duff Daily. I first had the privilege of interviewing Daily last November for an article in Speedboat Magazine. At that time, he had just clinched a win in his class at the Parker Enduro, with his son Dustin by his side as co-driver.
Since that initial interaction, Daily and I have maintained contact, frequently discussing his illustrious racing history and the ongoing racing season. After witnessing the recent race by the Southern California Speedboat Club at Lake Ming in Bakersfield, and with the Enduro approaching, I felt it was the perfect time to reconnect with Daily for an in-depth conversation.
In addition to discussing Daily's adventures in K-boat racing this year, we touched upon his recent nomination to the Motorsports Hall of Fame, the innovative engine he acquired for his son's Biesemeyer circle boat, and updates on the restoration of a reproduction of his father's iconic F-Service vintage racer.
Now at 70, the retired Miami fireman, Daily, boasts an impressive racing career spanning over half a century.
