Our Lone Star story of the day: Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick points out that the Texas Senate has pass all top 40 “priority bills.” The Senate has, as of Friday, passed 631 bills while the BurrowCrat House has passed only 182. Both officially began work on the same day but as usual the House plays around with its internal politics for months before getting to the work it must do in the 140-day session.

And speaking of convening for legislative work, Senator Birdwell has gotten a bill out of the Senate to the House that allows the Legislature to come back into session after the deadline for the governor to veto bills for the purpose of overriding vetoes.
