Welcome to the Sounds Like a Search and Rescue Podcast! Also known as SLASR. 

Join an experienced search and rescue volunteer and his friend as they discuss all things related to hiking and search and rescue in the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

This week we are joined for part 1 of a 2 part series with writer Ty Gagne, author of the books -  “Where You’ll Find Me, Risk Decisions and the Last Climb of Kate Matrosova” and “The Last Traverse, Tragedy and Resilience in the Winter Whites”.

Raffle Information

Ty has graciously offered to give away 6 autographed copies of his books. 3 “Where You’ll Find Me,” and 3 “The Last Traverse.” He has also offered to give one lucky listener a virtual book chat as well. So we thought up a few simple contests for the listeners, with all proceeds to benefit the New Hampshire Outdoor Council, the primary non-profit organization in NH that supports the volunteer SAR teams statewide.

You can participate in one or both of the following contests. Here’s how they  work:

AUTOGRAPHED BOOK RAFFLE: 

1. Make a donation of $100 or more to the New Hampshire Outdoor Council on or before New Years Eve.
2. Send an image or screenshot confirming your donation to [email protected] or message us on Instagram or Facebook
3. Tell us your name, Insta or Facebook profile (optional), and most importantly that you want to join the book raffle. 

6 winning entries will be drawn randomly, and will receive a single, signed book by Ty. The winners will be announced on the SLASR Facebook and Instagram pages on New Years Day. Following that announcement, winners will be contacted in order to provide a suitable mailing address to ship the prize to.
