We’re back in the kitchen and cooking up a great episode all about food. It’s essential to living but can also cause anxiety and struggle. Kate is sharing her truth about growing up with mixed messages about food and her body. We know this can be a sensitive topic for some of you so thank you for listening and processing with us!
The kitchen and food are so central to our HOME and families. So much of our life revolves around it. As mamas, we need a healthy relationship with food so we can model that to our kids. Naturally we compare our body to others. As parents we sometimes compare our kids’ bodies to other kids. It’s sad that we often find our standard for beautiful from the world instead of our Creator. These mixed messages for good and bad foods, beautiful bodies and acceptable weight is doing harm to us and impressionable young minds. Let’s speak kingdom culture over our kids and point them to God’s standard.
All things God created are good. We, as humans, have labeled food and weight by our limited perspectives and now we are influencing others to join our club. God’s word reminds us to not allow anything to master us. If food has mastery over me, then I need to ask my Creator for help to find freedom. God created the world and our bodies with order. When our physical fuel tank is low, then we need to refuel. Let’s ask Him to teach us what is best for our bodies!
