Justin and Dan open the show by breaking down how Auburn football continues to go backwards — especially in home games — in Year 2 under Hugh Freeze. They look at what the Tigers were unable to do against Vanderbilt, including the puzzling lack of carries for Jarquez Hunter and the failure to capitalize on an outstanding defensive performance against Diego Pavia and company.

Then it’s a switch over to basketball, where they look at where Auburn improved from the first to second exhibition. Dan gives his thoughts on strong debuts from true freshmen Tahaad Pettiford and Jahki Howard. Justin shows how the Tigers rose to Bruce Pearl’s challenges on offense and where they can improve on defense.

The episode ends with a quick look at Wednesday night’s season opener against a tricky Vermont team that’s been a regular in the NCAA Tournament for years. The guys also discuss their basketball travel in the upcoming days, which will mean an end to regular studio episodes for a while. Don’t worry, though. They’ll still deliver the podcast, from coast to coast.
