On February 3, 2004, Jamie Gough accompanied a friend of his, Michael Hernandez, to the boy's restroom inside their middle school, and sadly, he would not make it out of there alive. Michael, who had been friends with Jamie for about a year, had been increasingly obsessing over the movie Silence of the Lambs and serial killers. So much so that he wanted to know what it felt like to be one. He concocted a plan on who his victims would be and how he would go about killing them. Michael would only kill one out of the three names he wrote down, Jamie Gough before he was caught.
