I've said this since 2015. I know for certain that Black organizers have said this since then as well.

In fact, former Black, Sanders staffers said this while working on the campaign in 2016. Bernie has both the ability to authentically connect with Black voters of all backgrounds, but he isn't connecting with Black voters of all backgrounds.

Yes, he does well with Black millennials and Black Zoomers. But he needs to connect with Generation X, Boomers, the Black church and the politically apathetic. He certainly has the authenticity to do so. Will he? That was the question of 2016.
