In our Season One Finale, Ashley Whitehurst joins Cait to talk through White Feminism. Our co-hosts move through the three waves of feminism and the movement’s pesky tendency to repeat old exclusionary mistakes, touch on TERFs, and talk about how white feminism is out here hustling to find an “other” to toss under the metaphorical bus.

Included to break up the “whomp-wa” noise playing in your head, our co-hosts talk about their own journeys working with feminism’s complicated legacy, how Ashley’s cat punched her right in the face, and who our co-hosts would send into space as ambassadors of humans.

The wondrous Maria Konopken joins Cait as co-host to talk through a huge topic that we could only skim the surface of...Mental Health. We go all the way back to ancient Greece on this one to trace the evolution and development of the field of mental health care - it’s been a rough road from the beginning. We touch on the present day context and current status for how we’re doing amidst a teensy thing known as a global pandemic. Ever heard of it? The episode closes with an overview of Cait and Maria’s personal journeys with mental health and resources they’ve found helpful. 

While it was a heavy topic, we made sure to pepper in some discussion of...Fast and Furious 9, burlesque, and being cool with how much we cry.

In this episode, Cait is joined by Carly Heiser to talk through a beast of a topic...ensuring that your cat stays hydrated at 2AM….no, no wait….it’s capitalism, we’re talking about capitalism. It’s got its beefy tentacles into everything and can feel overwhelming to wrestle with - but this is a good enough start. Included is an overview of historical developments beginning with feudalism, with its appalling smells and incessant rain, through the modern era with its slightly better smells and a capitalist system on steroids. Then our co-hosts dive into some of the lies that capitalism tells us, and how we can operate in this system while hopefully moving toward something that works for more people. 

The episode concludes with a very important discussion of celebrity streams we’d like to see spun up on Twitch.

Camille Cadenhead joins Cait for an episode all about code switching. Cait talks through the linguistic-based history of the term, and how it has expanded in scope in recent years to describe how folks are often forced to move between identities to fit in. Camille follows with a discussion of present day impact. 

Included is a very important discussion of Camille’s ideal dinner guest, and a revelation that Camille’s cavalier attitude toward her vision board from a few years ago had far reaching impacts on the global state of politics.
