In this episode I talk about m o n e y and our relationship to abundance - specifically addressing feelings of guilt and how we potentially use 'spirituality' to bypass our relationship to money. I also address some of your questions about abundance+ capitalism, and interacting with resources, and I share some of my personal struggles and insights around money. Head's up: there is some explicit language in this episode, if you are sensitive to it.

    I discuss:

    • Money is a resource that we all need to operate
    • Our individual relationship to money and how we think about it
    • Separating how much money you have from your worth and your character
    • The false dichotomy between being profitable and being of service
    • How I grew up feeling guilty about money
    • Making up for lack of money by being overly helpful
    • Abundance as the natural state of the earth’s order
    • The other things that make up Abundance besides money
    • Is participating in Abundance causing harm?
    • How it’s not enough to resist a harmful system
    • The problem of relegating “doing good” to non-profit
    • Unconscious thinking holding us back
    • The 2 things I hear a lot in spiritual communities that I totally disagree with
    • Redefining profitability
    • Subconscious fears around impact + responsibility
    • Abundance is not something we manifest.

Don is a teacher for their soil advocate training, which is a program for educating people about how and why soil regeneration is important and equipping them with the tools and knowledge to be more effective advocates for regenerative practices that can heal the land and absorb some of the negative consequences of climate change. We Discuss

    • Why soil health is so important
    • The current, degenerated state of soil and how it got here
    • What is soil regeneration - how it impacts the environment + food
    • Why sustainability isn’t enough
    • A breakdown of regenerative agriculture
    • The capacity of land to be healed
    • The essential components of soil regeneration

    • Kiss the Ground’s scholarship program to retrain farmers
    • How regenerative agriculture is also more profitable than degenerative practices
    • How re-orienting government subsidies + legislation could be game-changing
    • How education can reinforce empowerment for activism + change
    • Taking a non-partisan approach to advocacy
    • The relationship of soil microbiome to our nutrition and health
