Felicia Ruiz is a curandera, indigenous foods activist, and natural foods chef whose work is deeply rooted in the healing properties of all earth medicines. In this episode, Felicia shares with us the importance of connecting to your ancestry, how to begin working with your ancestors, and what often holds people back from doing this kind of healing.

Today's guest is Stephanie Miracle. Stephanie is a dance artist, performer, choreographer + teacher. We met originally in undergrad, and Stephanie has since gone on to create, perform, study and teach all over the world. She holds a MFA in Dance 2014 from the University of Maryland and is also certified in the Klein technique. Stephanie's choreography has been described as “iconic and nuanced…with an irreverence that makes you smile unconsciously” (Rick Westerkamp review of GROOVE,2014). In addition to creating choreographies for traditional proscenium theaters her unique aesthetic finds special significance in common spaces for example, parking lots, bus stops, woman's prisons, hallways, staircases, and rooftops.  She is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor at University of Iowa. In her own words, Makeba Dixon-Hill is a connector, explorer and advocate who believes in the power of wandering when the heart is your guide. This Path has led her to writing, working in museums, teaching yoga, public speaking, and supporting others as a facilitator, thought partner, funder, and curator. Her areas of expertise include health and wellness consulting, arts advocacy strategy, interdisciplinary arts programming, artist workforce development, creative placemaking, and African Diasporic art and culture. And she currently serves as the Curator of Education at the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art here in Atlanta.

In this episode, my guest is dancer, performer + choreographer Aaron Samuel Davis. While he currently lives in Bremen, Germany where he dances and performs with a state theater there, he’s originally from the US. Aaron brings an an artistic, eloquent perspective to the importance of movement for imagination and paying attention to the seeds of this moment. We also talk about how movement helped him re-imagine what it means to live in a black body and why creativity is essential as we face the history of this moment.

In this solo episode, I share from the Tarot cards I pulled for you and dive into some of the major astrological aspects for the coming week. I share from two of my favorite poets and we discuss the modes of communication from and to the Underworld journey. I explore the negotiation of the ego as we’re moving towards transformation and how we can listen for the voice that is calling us and with the voice that wants to stay. Molly Rose Freeman is an artist and designer who centers pattern and color in a lot of her work as a way of celebrating connections and honoring the natural world in her work. Her work is vibrant and very alive and gives us a glimpse into all of the maximalism and LIFE with which she views the world. Today, we talk about rest and engaging with time and expectations in a way that suits our physical + emotional needs.
