    Stay focused…Hebrews 12:2-3
    This Sunday is the day that much of the world focuses on the resurrection of Jesus. He is RISEN! Let that sink in! Jesus is risen! He has defeated sin and death and given us hope for this life here on Earth and for all eternity! If you are a follower of Jesus then you must keep your focus on this truth. This world is working hard to distract you. To get you to take your eyes off of Jesus and His truth. We must stay focused.
    If you have been distracted and lost focus then we want to invite you to join us to celebrate Resurrection Sunday with us at Berea. If you are searching for meaning and purpose. If you are running from guilt and shame. If you are struggling in a relationship. If your marriage falling apart. If it feels like God is distant and His ways are out of reach. Then please come and find out more about how much God loves you and the lengths He went to to show you.

  • 465 Stay Focused pt 1 040223

    The world is distracted. The odds are pretty good that you are distracted. Even right now while you are reading this. You probably got a text message or an ad popped up on the screen or you looked away from the paper and lost your place. It can be hard to get anything done with all the distractions around us. What are we focused on in life?  
    Unfortunately, the Church can also lose focus. Over the course of this next week, we will be fixing our eyes on Jesus and what He did for all of us through His death, burial, and resurrection. These events lay the foundation for our faith and provide us with the hope we are to share with all of those in need around us.  
    We want to invite you to join us for each of our gatherings this week. We will begin with our Sunday service on April 2nd at 10:00 a.m.. On Sunday evening at 6:00 we will be focusing on Jesus through a night of worship. Thursday at 7:00 we will be hosting a Maundy Thursday Communion service to focus on what took place in the upper room on the night before Jesus’ arrest. Then on Friday at 6:00 we will host a Good Friday dinner before our service at 7:00. All leading up to the celebration of Resurrection Sunday, April 9th at 10:00 a.m.. A week focused on Jesus the author and perfector of our faith.

    Your relationship to God has many aspects. He is your Creator. God is your Father. He’s your judge. He’s your Lord. He’s your redeemer. He’s your Savior and so much more.  
    But maybe the most surprising relationship of all is this: God wants you for a friend. How can we develop that type of relationship with God? How do we maintain that type of relationship with God?

    What is worth fighting for in this world?

    In our culture, it seems like everyone is fighting about everything. Disagreements on every issue. As a follower of Jesus, are there things that are worth fighting for? We are not talking about issues or public policy, but things of God. Things that have been a part of God’s plan since creation. Things that the world has either dismissed or is actively trying to destroy. Are there things of God that the world is attacking that we should rise up to fight for? Absolutely!  

    Since the very beginning, literally one of the first things that God gave to humanity was the gift of relationships. This week we look at God’s Word and see why it is so important to fight for our friendships. Why are friends so important? How can I be a good friend? Where can I go to seek healthy friendships? It would be an honor if you chose to join us this Sunday at 10:00 a.m. @ Berea. Come and seek God’s plan for you and be encouraged by His love and guidance.     The Transformational Church is not afraid to fail…
    The transformational church begins with the transformation by God Himself of each of the lives of those who call upon His name. The transformational church is devoted to prayer. The transformational church is constantly seeking opportunities to share Christ with a Christless world. The transformational church is willing, even excited to change because we know the motivation behind the change. The transformational church seeks to transform the world. Starting locally and then taking the Gospel wherever God leads. In this final week of the series, we will share why the transformational church is not afraid to fail.  

    Some studies say that at least 1/3 of people have a fear of failure. It is the most common reason people will not try something new. What if this fear prevents us from being who God wants us to be? What if this fear keeps us from sharing Jesus? What if this fear keeps us from even coming to Jesus in the first place? The outcome is eternally devastating.  

    Join us on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. @ Berea as we share the reason why the transformational Church is not afraid of failure. Have you ever failed in life? Haven’t we all? Come to God today, bring your failure to Him. He can look past that failure and love you. He alone can redeem you from your past. He alone can forgive you. He has a plan for you. Maybe that plan begins with taking the first step toward a relationship with Him today. Or maybe you know Jesus but do not have a church home, we want to invite you to be a part of what God is doing among His people at Berea Christian Church.

    The Transformational Church Changes…the World
    What does a transformational Church look like? How do we become a church that God uses to help transform those that attend? A church that God uses to transform the community where it is located. A church that God uses to help transform the world around us! This week we will focus on Jesus’ command to go and transform the world. In His final words, Jesus commands His followers to “Go, and make disciples of ALL nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…”(Matthew 28:19-20) The transformation Jesus calls us to undergo extends far beyond the location God has placed us. As the world becomes more and more connected, we have an even greater opportunity to share the truth and love of Jesus! We invite you to join us this week as we get to share a new way that Berea is reaching out across the world.

    January is all but in the books already! We pray your year is off to a great start. But more importantly, we pray that this New Year has brought you closer to Jesus in some way. If this year is off to a rough start or you are feeling distant from God, please take a moment and pray that God will reveal Himself to you. That someone will show God’s love to you in a new way. We will be praying for you as well.  

    The Transformational Church Changes

    What does a transformational Church look like? How do we become a church that God uses to help transform those that attend? A church that God uses to transform the community where it is located. A church that God uses to help transform the world around us! This week we will focus on change. By definition, a transformational church must change. But we must never change the truth of Jesus. We must never change the gospel message. We must not alter the teachings of Jesus. If these must remain the same, then what and how are we to change?
